Halloween!!

Here comes the maharaja



I love helping around the house. I have started using the toothpaste and it makes brushing my teeth even more exciting! The doctor said I already have the vocab of a 2- year-old. Its not all good since it also means the terrible twos are here. Mama and papa had no idea what he meant...Ill have to show them!

Did you just say " no more juice?"

19 months old!

I have so many teeth now, 3 on top, 4 bottom and 4 molars in the back- 2 on either side. I love to brush my teeth. I like to form my own opinion now and will firmly say no when I am offered something I dont want. And I wont change my mind after that. Like when papa asked me if we should go home from the park yesterday after we spent some time there, i said "no".

I have also found out everyone has a name and will smile, point out to myself and proudly tell you my name, and mama's and papa's names too, if you ask. I have also started learning things on my own, whenever I see an insect I go "spider" and point out to it. Yep, I have a growing vocab - some of the words I say now are aariv, baby, mama, papa, didi, kaka, kaki, masi, dadi, dada, nana, nani, park, stroller, more, water, juice, biscuit, cookie (sometimes), cheese, birdy, tiger, doggie, cat, horse, cow, tree, flower. I love milk, I wake up every morning asking for it.

I love to "drive" sitting in papas lap at the wheel. When asked to drive the first thing I do is reach out for the GPS. Isnt that how one is supposed to start to drive?

My new look!

I know, I know I havent updated you in a long time, its just my busy schedule that is to blame. I have grown a lot and am doing a lot of new things. I have a lot of new pictures and videos for you.

The EIEIO video always gets me in a good mood.


Now when mama tells me it is time for breakfast I go to the dining table, climb on the chair and wait for her there.

Papa!!

Hi everyone, its been a long time that I have not updated you on my developments. I love walking now. Stores and gardens are my favourite places now. I hate being in the stroller when I am in these places and just want to get on my feet and run around with a big smile on my face. It is fun seeing all the grown ups start worrying and run after me when I run around.

I do so many new things now. I try to repeat most words after you. Some of my favourite words are banana, ball, bow-bow, night night, bye, hi, dudu (for milk,)fix and papa. I love to randomly call out papaaa in the middle of playtime even when hes not around! I get so excited to see him when he gets back home so we can play and watch our favorite lion video together.

I now point at everything and go "ah? "ask for what I want. Mealtimes are fun, I drop everything given to me, say "uh-oooohhh" and only eat cheerios. Mama needs to make sure the cheerio box is out of site at mealtime. If you feed me something that I cant chew I put my fingers in my mouth, gag and throw up. My new favorite activity is opening any drawers I can reach, taking one thing out at a time and handing it over to mom/dad/whoever is around. My parents get angry initially - but they melt and start looking at each other when I repeat "Aaru!" in the same tone after they yell at me when I do something wrong. My hair is growing into curls, looks like I will be going for my first haircut pretty soon. I am getting a lot better at walking, I can balance a lot better and walk a good 15-20 steps before I lose my balance.



I recently got my first pair of real shoes! Yaaay!

You'll see this if you leave me standing for a few seconds without holding anything, and I can even take a few steps on my own without support. Yay! This makes my face gleam with pride. My parents think Im teething again since I have been drooling a lot and have caught a cold.. whatever it is, I hope its short!

Its getting harder for me to be in the crib all night(especially now that it is so low), papa had to get a bed rail so I dont fall off their bed in the night. My favorite new activity with Papa is watching the lion roar on the computer-I like it so much I point at the computer and roar like a lion to ask anyone thats working on the computer to show me the lion. But some people just dont get it!

My vocabulary is growing by the day. I recently went to help chachu move and picked up the word "fix". I will gladly repeat it after you. In my music class they have been giving me a microphone and asking me to say "ba ba". I get too shy but say it as soon as they take the mike away from me. Mama's been making me reharse at home with the hairbrush, we will see if it helps.

1 year old!

Happy birthday to Aariv, happy birthday to you - I was so surprised to hear everyone sing this to me at my first birthday party, my expression said it all.



I wouldnt let go of the cake when mama and papa fed me when we cut it- I kept asking for more when they tried to feed it to anyone but me - c'mon it's my birthday! I think I'm gonna have the sweet tooth. I was so excited that day with all the babies and kids around, and all the baloons and toys to play with. With so much activity around, I was so excited I skipped my morning nap and headed straight to the party! Mama and Papa were worried I may get scared seeing so many people around but I was so busy socializing with everyone, they wouldnt even know where I was and had to find me everytime they wanted to take a picture. Thank you all for the wonderful gifts-I have so many cool new toys to learn new skills with.

I recently had my 1-year checkup, they gave me 3 shots :( but I forgot about them soon after and was my normal self. They weighed me- I was on the lower side at 18 pouds and 17 oz, but what do you expect - my hyperactive life is keeping me slim and trim!

I have been throwing kisses to everyone I know and have been giving the best hugs you would have ever seen. Once I hug someone I pause for a long time. I can get off my parents bed to the floor on my own now. AI have started jabbering log sentences that only I understand when people around me are making conversations. I have specific words for certain things and I have started pointing at things and asking for what I want. I have one common word dayday for milk, doggy, daddy and didi.

Last weekend I made my first trip to Dallas with mama and papa. I had a great time with papa when mama was gone to work. It was so much fun seeing all my uncles and aunties and enjoying the sun there! I was a very good boy and everyone was happy I played with them all. I also made my first trip to the zoo! It was so much fun seeing all the barn animals and wild animals that I usually see in books. Some were hard to recognise but there were so many kids there making the sounds that the animals make, that was even more fun.

From the beginning of this year I have discovered a new semi-standing position-with one knee on the floor, I bend the second knee and put that foot on the floor. I have also been trying to repeat words that you say-I picked up a strange word from mama "dirty". She says that to discourage me from eating something I shouldnt. Also they've been trying to teach me baby sign language and my favorite sign is "all done" when I am done eating. I lift my hand, open my palm and turn it around. I use this to my convenience and sign "done" as soon as I taste the first spoon of something I dont like. Now wasnt that what that sign was for?

Christmas was great fun. I went to see the tree at Mofi and Nafi's house and got my first Christmas gift. I got a dress that says "my first christmas" and a pair of shows that are soo awesome. Masi, Ria and Shay didi gave me some finger puppet books which I always have a great time with.

I also attended my first Birthday party this christmas- Micah and Oscar It was great fun and I made a lot of friends!


Dad and mom have emptied all drawers within my reach and put my toys in them. Shows whos the boss here :) I love taking tissue paper in my hands, tearing it up into lots of pieces and throwing them on the floor, making a BIG mess. I also end up putting some paper in my mouth and spitting it out.

I have started saying my first words. I say the sweetest bye you ever heard. The other day I said hi to dadi on the phone and I keep repeating it when I see someone. Just yesterday I started telling people how a dog barks and am very proud of my new skill. Dad just discovered my brand new third tooth, this one is on my top jaw. I love to chew on his chin-it feels sooo good, especially now wih all this teething!



The weather is too cold to be outdoors nowadays and I love my time at my play gym Gymboree, socialising with my friends, going into tunnels, climbing steps, coming down slides and playing with toys that make great sounds (and taste great too!) Here are some pics from a recent day out at Gymboree.
